Fragmented Realities: Virtual Experience
Project type

The ‘Fragmented Realities’ virtual experience explores the bridge between physical and virtual space through augmented reality and 3D modelling. This work invites you to engage with spatial memory and fragmented identity through layered, interactive forms.

The process began with research-led concept development, drawing on themes of distortion, repetition, and spatial absence. I abstracted the portraiture into a 3D model, preserving its essence while reshaping it into a fragmented digital sculpture. These forms were designed to retain the tactile, imperfect qualities found in the artwork. I incorporated a gentle pulse that brings motion and life to the artwork.

The final AR filter was made publicly accessible through a live experience at Pimlico Station, allowing passersby to interact with the work in real time. Alongside this, I developed an interactive 3D model viewer to preserve the project and extend access beyond the site. Offering others the chance to explore the experience from anywhere.

By blending conceptual inquiry with emerging tools like WebXR and AR, Fragmented Realities unfolds into memory, imagination, and the spaces in between.
