Press Release
Revealing Southbury was a placemaking initiative by the London Borough of Enfield, delivered in partnership with Fisher Cheng Architects and mural collective Blank Walls.
Selected as a Place Champion, the role focused on supporting public art delivery, participatory workshops, and community-led spatial engagement across Southbury Road. Working alongside Place Champion Safia Banharally, the project explored how local stories, memories, and lived experiences could shape the visual identity of the area.
Community participation formed the foundation of the process. Workshops with residents, pupils, and local businesses informed the development of murals and shopfront interventions, ensuring the final works emerged directly from the neighbourhood itself.
The project culminated in a public launch event and spatial activation at Southbury Launderette, celebrating collaborative making, storytelling, and local identity through art in the public realm.
